MWD v2: Silphted.
Silphted: Adjective: (silf-TED) A being that has been affected by the radioactive aftereffects of the powerplant explosion. Noun: A Silph: an improper name of a being who has been affected by the radioactive aftereffects of the powerplant explosion.
Nothing about that day was different. No ominous threats lingered over the peaceful forest and the animals that inhabbited it. Nothing could have warned them of their fate: a sudden loud whining, coming from the powerplant, and then it exploded into a thousand incinerated fragments. A wave of heat and fallout radiated through the shocked valley, stinging the eyes and noses of all the exposed creatures. A silent day passed before the forest overcame its fear. Someone went to investigate. The news returned: all the human scientists who had been working in the plant were killed, their bomb experiment having exploded the entire building. Cynical remarks stained the air. It was what they deserved. Those humans were nothing but trouble in the first place. They won't affect us anymore.
A year passed, and the apocalyptal event slowly faded from the forest's memory. A story of a mutated fox kit spread through the valley. It had five legs. The news bothered all the forests' creatures, though none of the other species felt very affected. That is, until reports of a mutated younger generation cropped up; wings on land animals, multiple tails, mixed genes, DNA mutations. The accusations traced back to the explosion; the radiation had affected all the animals who were exposed to the immediate explosion. The next generation showed visible effects. They were mutants: abominal. The forest shunned them, and the animals were forced to live by their own means, or join the hidden bands that sheltered such creatures. Eventually most of the transformed animals died out. Only the stronger of the animals were able to survive: most of which were the larger land animals. They banned together and strove for survival. Some groups allowed both Silphted and non Silphted creatures. Some only allowed specific species. The struggling groups eventually became more definite: Kaiju Zoku and KetsuSei Zoku.
Kaiju Zoku (meaning 'Strange Creature' 'tribe') Consists of Silphted creatures.
KetsuSei Zoku (meaning 'Clean' 'Pure' 'tribe') Consists of UnSilphted creatures.
Composed of mostly canines, the packs savagely compete for land, food, and survival. The level of trust of the Silphs varies gratly no matter where one wanders, so choose your path wisely- you might just face extinction.
