Waters toiled restlessly in the ocean, moveing its self over the rocks and boulders in its way. A lone wind came across the rocky beach as the sun went down in a red flash on the horizon. The mist in the air tasted of salt and stuck to everything. A white figure sat high on a rock. High above the crashing waters below. Its scarlet eyes were fixed on the horizon as it sat majesticly up on high. The blue markings on the back of this proud wolf seemed as blue as the ocean. Its wings were folded against its back the tips, also in blue.
Shadow was all alone but this was how he liked it. As the sun went down in another flash of color he stood up. Showing his body at full size. He looked like a bear. His paws were huge and so was the muscles on his back and the rest of his body. His tail was long and straight. He stepped gracefully down off of his rock. A wave broke behind him spraying him with water that chilled his coat. The sun was gone and so too were the colors. The sky was now a deep blue color and stars were already shineing through.
Shadow was lost. He would never admit it but he didn't know where he was. In the back of his mind he secretly wished for a scent of another being to come along the breeze. As Shadow scaled his way down the slippery rocks to the sand below he silently cursed himself. What am I doing here? Among these rocks and boulders. Why haven't I moved on? Because you don't know where to go... I hate me when I make sense. The shackles on his feet clanged against the rocks and the chain around his neck let out faint sounds as he moved. Glad Im not trieing to sneak up on anything. He thought to himself.
On the shore Shadow stopped to shake the salt from his fur, without much luck. His tail swished from side to side as his ab-normally huge paws sank into the soft sand. Shadow stopped at a cave a few feet away. The darkness inside was welcomeing. The soft echo of water from the depths of the cave soothed him. Shadow stepped in weaving his way around dagger like rocks and dark holes that led to the ocean below. In his home he came to sit beside a fresh-water resevoir. A uneaten seagull laid to one side. Shadow bit into its feathers and felt its warm blood trickle down his throat. Shadow ate the bird and started to clean himself when he smelt something strange.... someone was here...

(Yay! Thanks!)
Corbeau quietly trotted along the shore, not caring that the salty spray was soaking his outer coat, and continued on. He was looking for a place to stay for the night and hadn't felt like creating a den in the forest he'd been in a while back, and so continued on along the beach. He spotted a cave a little ways off and, with mild excitement, picked up his pace so that he could get out of the reach of the water. The scent made his nose burn. Unfortunately, the scent also made it near impossible for him to pick up anything other than the salty stench of the ocean. He turned his lope into an all out gallop when a particularly large wave crashed into the shore and drenched the rough fur of his outer coat and some of his softer, warmer, inner coat. Ugh, I can't wait to be out of this wretched water! He thought to himself somewhat bitterly, wrinkling his snout in distaste as he was once more splashed with water. He shook his coat fiercely, right down to the tip of his amazingly long tail, and leaped the last few feet to the mouth of the cave. He stopped suddenly, however, as he saw what he could not smeel or hear over the ocean. A massive ivory wolf towered before him, wings with blue tips folded neatly against its back. Uh-oh...

Shade stood to search the cave starting with the mouth. His fur was splashed with water. Asorbed in his own thoughts Shade forgot to pay attention to the smells around him. A small thing jumped out infront of Shade. Shade made audden stop to stand infront of the creature. What is this small creature? Its tail was longer than it's whole body... It looked like a fox. Can it be one of me? A slim sliver of hope flashed in Shades mind.
He relaxed his muscles and dipped his head down to look the fox in the face. "And just who may you be? Shade tried to put on a friendly smile but that didn't work out that well...

Corbeau released a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding when the wolf relaxed its body and relaxed his own, studying the wolf. He responded easily when the wolf requested to know his name. "I am Corbeau. A Silph, as you can easily tell. And you?" He asked, curiosity dancing within his ice blue eyes. He'd hopded against hope to find another Silph, and from the looks of it he had done just that. Although, they would make an unlikely pair... He didn't care. He just wanted a friend to cure the loneliness.

((Like Fuyu said XD ))
Shade looked at Corbeau with his crimson eyes. A breeze came in from the ocean splashing water flecks on his coat. The tide was riseing... Soon the mouth of the cave would be surrounded by shallow water. Shade sighed lightly and said heavily "I am Shade..." His voice dropped as he watched the salt water make its way slowly to the sand bar on which the cave settled. The cave echoed with the sounds of the ocean.
Shade shuffled his foot and the chain on his foot tinged against the floor. Shade turned suddenly and started walking back to the center of the cave. "Follow if you wish..." He said over his shoulder to Corbeau. He didn't look back to see if he was following or not as he trotted back to the center of the cave. The oceans rush was growing lighter. Shade lept over a rock that was in the middle of the tunnel. What is the matter with me? Shade lept onto a ledge above his head. Crystals passed by as Shade made his way to the back. When he made it there was when he stopped. Something was makeing him want to squirm all over and he had no clue what it was.

Corbeau inclined his head ever so slightly as Shade introduced himself, watching as his eyes flicked behind him for a moment before focusing in on his own ice orbs once more. "Follow if you wish..." Was what was said next, and Corbeau hesitated for just a moment before padding quietly behind him a few paces. He shook his fur out a bit more, shaking off even more water, and lashed his tail from side to side as he continued behind Shade. More salt water flung from his tail. Shade hopped over a rock that was in his way before leaping up onto a ledge that was above his head. Following still, Corbeau paused on top of the rock, measuring the distance. He highly doubted he could make it to the ledge from off the rock. Hearing Shade continue on, Corbeau launched himself at the ledge, making it, and glanced around himself for a moment before chasing after Shade. He slowed to a light trot once he was at Shade's flank, the slowest he could go and still keep up with Shade. "...Shade, right? You okay? You look kind of... I don't know, sad I guess." He asked, paying close attention to Shade's reaction. 'I doubt I could outrun him if I manage to make him mad... He's so much bigger than me. But maybe I could dodge him, like everyone else.' He thought to himself, somewhat worried.

There was an uneasieness in the air around Shade as he looked back to see Corbeau on his heels. So he did come... What does he want from me? "...Shade, right? You okay? You look kind of... I don't know, sad I guess." Corbeau had said. Why is he being so nice to me? I have nothing to give. I have done nothing for him! This concept puzzled Shade. He had never encountered kindness before and had no clue that it had existed. Flicked his tail back and forth, he often did this when he was thinking." Yes, I am Shade. And yes I am ok... As if I would tell you if I wasn't "I just have alot on my mind... Shade turned his crimsons toward the cieling of the cave as he started walking. The spikes on the roof looked sharp and foreboding. As if a wind would come they would come crashing down.
Shade stopped halfway down the tunnel. What am I doing? Why am I takeing this stranger back to my den? Shade sat between two boulders and studied Corbeau. Can I trust him? One way to find out. "So Corbeau, tell me about yourself...

Corbeau nodded in understanding when Shade answered his question. After all, it was perfectly normal to be quiet and seem distracted when you had a lot on your mind. He himself had been known to walk or run for hours on end whenever he had enough on his mind. He followed Shade's gaze up to the ceiling and narrowed his eyes ever so slightly. The spikes were... He shook his head to rid himself of the thought, focusing back on Shade, who had stopped and turned to face him. He sat between two boulders and studied Corbeau as, he too, sat down. "So Corbeau, tell me about yourself..." Came Shade's query. Curling his tail around himself, Corbeau looked up at Shade and said, "What would you like to know?", with a slight smile.

The Stars shone as though someone had lit a thousand fires in the sky; a memorial for every meaningless death, every fallen hero, for every martyr who died for a lost cause. And the Sea of Starshine reflected them all; a perfect mirror of an imperfect heaven. Mother Nature's vanity, was the sea, where her beauty was mirrored twicefold upon itself.
The wolf padded across the sands, his head quite obviously in the sky, as there were no clouds to be lost in. The moon was absolutely beautiful, and it captivated him in that way that happened every night; clear sky or not. Only the crashing of the waves breaking against the white sands could be heard, a long set of tracks slowly washed away by the incoming tide. The near meditative trance was broken when an uncommonly strong wind blew the scruffy fur back from his eyes, and his tired, dark eyes narrowed back into their usual alert state. There were scents on the wind... Finally. Zkhada scanned the thin beaches, finding at last the owners of the howl. Across a small hollow the tide had worn away in the sand, the rocky ledges of a cave lay not ten paces higher than the patch of white that he walked now. Worn, tattered ears perked for an instant before settling back into the grey that permeated his body, pushing the ever tired muscles to jump the water and the rocks and to hover by the edge of the cave. Tiny echoes still reverberated throughout the area, faint clangs of metal against rock that tickled at his hearing. It didn't take long for the sharp wolf to pick up on the fact that someone had been living here, even if not for too long. Caution increased tenfold, though his desperation for Silphted company- anyone from this land, at all- kept him outlined against the thick moonlight. "Evenin'," he said eventually, curious at the soft echoes his rasping voice created. "Room for one more, or do you have a private party on here?" The humour in his remark was lost in the dead tone of voice, the little emotion shown only by the weary grin on the shaggy strangers face.

Corbeau blinked, looking back over his shoulder, and cocked his ears ever so slightly. A weary voice drifted through the cave until it reached them, the question somewhat wary. Room for one more? He glanced quickly at Shade, curious. He, of course, was fine with another companion but... He wasn't too sure about Shade. "What say you, Shade?" He asked calmly, his eyes showing only a fraction of his excitement. "Allow another or no? After all, this does seem to be your den." He said. "I'm fine with it, of course. I like company." He added, as an afterthought, and nodded, smiling a content smile.

"Aww, c'mon! I'm hungry!"
The grumbling voice rose from the thick underbrush as the adolescent trudged his way around. One paw became caught in a thicket, and the wolf growled, gnawing at the vines until they snapped free, and he went tumbling forward into another bush.
"Dammit! No fair! This kind of thing always happens to me...I must be jinxed or something!"
"Maybe you should just watch where you're going and be more careful?"
The wolf stopped his struggle to free himself from the branches and glared at the little red dragon that was half hopping, half flying after him. The wolf stuck out his tongue and mumbled a half-hearted "Shut up..." but the dragon didn't mind, and instead grinned. The red and gray wolf struggled in his fit for another minute before he finally managed to get free. This time he stepped cautiously.
After a short walk, the pair caught a whiff of sea spray. The wolf's nose lifted to the air, and the small dragon took off into the sky. After a while of circling, he returned back to the canine.
"The ocean's just up ahead,"
"Yeah, I figured. I can smell it..." They made an excited dash up the back of a grass dune, the soil turning to shifting sand beneath their paws. As the wolf scrambled to the top, he was hit in the face with the full blast of the sea breeze: gusts of salt-wind came blowing off the waves as they pounded the shore, exploding into white foam and spray as they crashed down. The wolf's fur was whipped around, and his bangs were plastered over his eyes.
"It's so beautiful, Rhin," the dragon mentioned, stretching its wings in the wind.
"You've got that right, Rauku," the canine replied.
OOC|| By the way, Rauku's a figment of Rhin's imagination. He doesn't know any more than Rhin knows at the moment, so if Rhin doesn't know that you're there, neither does the dragon.
